I was reading thru AutoWeek and found this post. Some really very interesting information on Painless performance. It is really cool to see the history behind automotive aftermarket company’s. The writer drewh's page is really good at telling the story.
I also found the part about the new injection systems for mileage very interesting.
"As more and more enthusiasts move to fuel injection applications, Painless is working on products to reach this expanding market. In 2008 they introduced the “Striker Cold Shot” water/methanol injection system. This is the most complete, highest quality system on the market. This Painless kit improves horsepower and performance in both gasoline and diesel engines by cooling the intake charge and reducing exhaust gas temperatures. After it’s injected, the rapid evaporation of the water/methanol absorbs the heat from the post intercooler air. Then evaporated methanol enters the combustion chamber where it increases the octane rating of the fuel. This enables you to use more boost without the power robbing effect of high combustion temperatures and extends turbocharger life. The on-board monitor uses a bright LED display that features a low water level warning and a brightness function for easy reading either at night or during the day."
